The short answer
Short answer
CapCut's own resource article lists Pro at $19.99 per month or $179.99 per year and Team at around $24.99 per month, and says prices vary by region, platform, taxes and promotions (checked October 14, 2026). CapCut's help center documents three 2026 moves: the old price closed to new subscribers on March 25, there is no lifetime option (April 3), and the Standard plan is mobile-focused, so membership features on a computer need Pro (April 8). Claims that extract audio, export resolution or auto captions moved behind Pro are user reports without dated primary proof.
Last checked October 14, 2026. This page is a log, not a verdict. Each row below says whether CapCut states it, an archived listing shows it, or only users report it. We make Rushilo, an alternative to CapCut, so we keep the sourcing visible. If you want the comparison rather than the log, read CapCut alternatives for Mac and Windows, which cites this page for every CapCut claim. What does CapCut Pro cost in US dollars?
CapCut’s own resource article lists Pro at $19.99 per month or $179.99 per year. It lists Team at around $24.99 per month and says prices vary by region, platform, taxes and promotions. CapCut: Standard vs Pro, page dated September 23, 2026, read October 14, 2026.
Two cautions. First, that article is not a checkout page, and the dollar sign is not labelled as US dollars. Second, CapCut’s web pricing page showed Canadian dollars on every fetch we made, including an archived copy from October 10, 2026, so we could not capture a US-dollar pricing page. CapCut’s help center also declines to give a fixed price: it says pricing can vary by region, device and promotions. CapCut help, how much does CapCut Pro cost.
The dated change log
Method. Dollar figures before 2026 come from archived copies of the Apple App Store US listing, which publishes an in-app purchase price list in dollars, and from archived copies of CapCut’s own article. The Apple list has several unlabelled entries per name, so a row proves that a price was listed on that date, not which one a given user saw. A row that says “archive” is a snapshot date, not the date a change was announced.

What the log shows, in order of confidence:
- On Apple’s US listing, a Pro monthly entry moved from $9.99 (April 2023) to $11.99 (October 2024) to $19.99 (January 2025). Treat this as “listed”, not “announced”.
- CapCut’s own 2026 position is that the old price is closed to new subscribers (March 25), there is no lifetime option (April 3), existing subscribers keep their renewal price (April 8), and a computer needs Pro (April 8).
- The $19.99 and $179.99 figures appear in CapCut’s article from the November 28, 2025 archive onward. The earliest archived trace of the $19.99 monthly entry is the Apple list of January 4, 2025. We could not find the date either price was introduced.
Did CapCut put exports, extract audio or auto captions behind Pro?
Some of it is documented, most of it is only reported by users. We found no dated primary proof for extract audio or a 1080p export cap. Here is each claim with the evidence.
Pro annual went from $77 to $179.99, in June 2026
- What we found
- A r/CapCut thread dated June 24, 2026 says so. $179.99 is in CapCut's own article seven months earlier (archive of November 28, 2025), so a June 2026 hike is not supported. The only $77 line we found is One-year Standard $77.00 on Apple's US list of January 4, 2025, which is a Standard entry. A Newsweek article dated February 17, 2026 reportedly says the same range; we read only its search snippet.

- Contradicted as to date. Do not trust a hike date
A yearly price of 99 dollars, an increase of over 100 dollars
- What we found
- A r/CapCut thread dated January 25, 2026. We found no 99 dollar yearly figure on any primary source.
- Status
- Unverified
1080p, 2K or 4K export behind a paywall, only 720p free
- What we found
- A r/CapCut thread dated August 29, 2026. CapCut's help (January 14, 2026) says only that free accounts may face watermarks or bitrate limits on 4K exports and that Pro gets unrestricted 4K. That is weaker than the claim. No snapshot shows a 720p cap.
- Status
- Unverified, partly documented for 4K
Extract audio moved behind Pro
- What we found
- A r/CapCut thread dated July 7, 2026. No CapCut help page, release note or archive snapshot mentions extract audio as a Pro feature.
- Status
- Unverified
Auto captions moved behind Pro
- What we found
- CapCut's resource article says the auto caption generator is exclusive to Pro (text from October 2025 on). Its help article on recognising subtitles (January 30, 2026) describes auto captions on web and desktop with no paywall note. No dated change confirmed.

“I’m so sick of CapCut slowly sneaking every single basic feature behind a paywall.”
That is how users describe it, and the frustration is real, but a quote is not a source for a date or a plan limit. CapCut does say that items needing a Pro subscription carry a Pro icon and that you can remove them to export without a subscription. CapCut help, remove Pro features.
Why do people see different CapCut prices?
CapCut says its price depends on region, device and promotions, and the sources we saw differ by surface. Its help center says so directly. Its web pricing page showed Canadian dollars, and the Apple US list shows in-app purchase entries in dollars with several unlabelled entries per name.
“If you want to get CapCut Pro and its saying anything other than $10/month or $90/year then first try going on desktop browser (while being signed out)...”
That is one person’s account and we have not verified it. It is useful only as a sign that people saw different prices by surface. Check the price in the app before you pay, and treat any single quoted number, including ours, as a dated reading.
Standard or Pro on a Mac or PC?
On a computer, CapCut says you need Pro. Its April 8, 2026 help page says Standard is primarily designed for mobile use and that accessing membership features on a PC requires a Pro subscription. The April 2 page describes Standard as personal and casual. If you edit on a Mac or Windows PC and want membership features, plan on the Pro price. CapCut’s own pages disagree on two Pro details, storage (100 GB or 1 TB) and AI credits (700 or 1,200), so confirm both in the app. Sources: valid devices, Standard vs Pro.
What would a switch cost?
A switch can cost nothing (DaVinci Resolve free), a one-time fee, or a one-time fee plus an AI plan you already pay for. For the full comparison, including when to stay on CapCut, see the CapCut alternatives page.

How we check
Every row uses a CapCut page, a CapCut help article, or an archived copy of one, and says which. User reports come from Reddit and are labelled as reports, with the subreddit and date. We do not use Reddit for a fact. We plan to re-check monthly and will change the date at the top when we do. If you can capture CapCut’s pricing page from a signed-in US session with the date visible, that is the one gap we cannot close from outside.
If you are comparing editors with AI in the loop, also read text-based video editing and the CapCut alternatives page.
Frequently asked questions

CapCut's own resource article lists $19.99 per month or $179.99 per year for Pro, and says prices vary by region, platform, taxes and promotions. CapCut's web pricing page showed Canadian dollars when we checked, so we could not capture a US-dollar pricing page. Checked October 14, 2026.
Does CapCut Pro have a lifetime plan?
No. CapCut's help center says it does not currently offer a lifetime purchase option, only monthly and yearly plans (page dated April 3, 2026).
Will my CapCut renewal price go up?
CapCut says it has no plans to increase the renewal price for current users and promises notice before any change (help page dated April 8, 2026).
Can I use CapCut Standard on a computer?
CapCut describes Standard as designed primarily for mobile use, and says accessing membership features on a PC requires a Pro subscription (help page dated April 8, 2026).
Did CapCut put exports or extract audio behind a paywall?
Only partly documented. CapCut's help says free accounts may face watermarks or bitrate limits on 4K exports. We found no CapCut page, release note or archive snapshot that puts extract audio or a 1080p export cap behind Pro. Those claims are Reddit reports. See the paywall section for the evidence on each.
